We never wanted a our breeding program to mean having a large number of dogs living under one roof. We believe our dogs deserve more than simply being incredible moms and dads for our program, they deserve to be someone’s whole world. That is where our Guardian Home Program comes in. We carefully place select breeding dogs with loving families who welcome them into their home and raise them as their own, while we retain breeding rights for a limited time. They get their own people, their own couch, their own routines and a lifetime of memories with the family they will eventually retire with. Meanwhile, we get the privilege of watching them contribute something incredibly special to future generations of Allison Family Doodles. It truly takes a village to do what we do, and our guardian families are an invaluable part of ours. Because before they are part of our breeding program, they are family. Always!

Welcome a carefully selected Allison Family Doodles dog into your family at no purchase cost. You provide the loving forever home while we retain breeding rights for the agreed-upon time. Once their breeding career is complete, they retire right where they’ve always belonged, with you.
When you become a guardian, you’re not doing this alone. You’ll have direct access to us for guidance, questions, resources, and support throughout the guardian journey and long after their breeding days are over. You’re part of the Allison Family for life.
We believe our guardian families deserve a little something extra for being such an important part of our program. Guardians have opportunities to receive cash bonuses and special incentives throughout their dog’s breeding career, our way of showing appreciation for the role you play in helping our program grow.

For breeding females, you must live within a two hour drive of Ooltewah, Tennessee
Take the dog to all necessary vet and grooming appointments
For breeding males, you must live within a one hour drive of Ooltewah, Tennessee
Keep the dog as an indoor pet, have a fenced-in yard, and always leash for outdoor ventures
Maintain a schedule that does not require you to leave the dog home alone for long periods of time
Puppy must attend a puppy manners course or a series of obedience classes prior to 6 months of age in order to help promote the socialization process
Commit to good healthcare and feed the dog AFD approved, high-quality dog food. We feed Open Farm Rawmix exclusively.
Know the behaviors associated with intact male and female dogs (AKA recognize when an unneutered/unspayed dog is ready to breed)
Understand that the dog is the property of Allison Family Doodles until their breeding career is completed, and that we will transfer ownership documentation to you only after they are spayed or neutered
Provide the dog with lots of love, affection and exercise!
Communication is key to a successful Guardian relationship. You must maintain an open line of communication with us about the dog's health, development, and condition at all time
FEMALES VS. MALES
Communication is an important part of being a guardian family with Allison Family Doodles. Guardian families are required to notify us as soon as their female begins her heat cycle so we can coordinate everything needed for her upcoming breeding. When it is time to breed, she will stay with us briefly, typically 2–6 days, before returning home to her guardian family. She will remain comfortably at home throughout the majority of her pregnancy. Approximately one week before her expected due date, she will return to Allison Family Doodles to settle in and prepare for delivery. She will remain in our care for approximately 6–7 weeks while she whelps, nurses, and raises her puppies. Once her puppies are ready for their next chapter, mama gets to return home to her family! After she has completed the agreed upon number of litters outlined in her Guardian Home Agreement, Allison Family Doodles will cover the cost of her spay. Her breeding chapter officially closes, and she gets to spend the rest of her life exactly where she belongs, home with you, loved forever!

Once health testing is complete and your male has officially been approved as part of the Allison Family Doodles breeding program, we will communicate with you whenever he is needed for breeding. Our males typically begin their breeding careers between 11m–1yr of age and may remain active in our program until approximately 6 years old, depending on the terms outlined in their individual Guardian Home Agreement. We always do our best to provide as much advance notice as possible; however, Mother Nature doesn’t always work on a schedule! There may be times when we only have 1–2 days’ notice, which is why excellent communication and flexibility with our male guardian families is so important. Breeding frequency can vary greatly. During busier periods, a male may be needed 2–3 times in a month, while other times he may go several months without being needed at all. Depending on the breeding arrangements, he may return home the same day or stay with us for approximately 2–4 days at a time. Once your male has completed the number of years outlined in his Guardian Home Agreement, Allison Family Doodles will cover the cost of his neuter. His role in our breeding program officially comes to an end, and he gets to enjoy retirement right where he’s always belonged, home with you for the rest of his happy life!
